Psalms! "In the Pits"

Psalms are great poems of people being really honest with God.
I've had to re-write a few for Uni assignments and the process of doing so can be really helpful.
Here's an almost Dr Zuess type version of one.

Psalm 80
By a poet who's "In the pits".
From a nation that's "In the pits".
A nation whose neighbours sharpen their sticks.
A nation whose God just sits there and.. What? Knits?
A nation that waits for the hits and the kicks
All they can do is sit and sit, down their in the pits.

"We're falling to bits down here in the pits!"
O God can't you hear us?
God?
Hello?"

He's not listening to them.
He's not listening to us.
He's deaf to the sounds from the pits where they sit.
Is He deaf to the sounds from the pits where we sit?

The pits where we sit.
Way down all alone, all alone in the pits.
All alone?
Hello?
